dear reader,

welcome to gossamer lit's inaugural issue, "WINGS". in this collection of ethereal poetry & prose, our hope is that you will be transported to some other world with wings of your very own.

​

these 18 pieces are all at once evocative, inspiring, imaginative, & encompassing in their creativity. dana blatte's "Dial Tone" grapples with the myth of icarus's ageless wings. shane shick's "On Earth, As It Is" contemplates the beauty of an angelic mural in an auto body shop, while lynn finger tells us a story interweaving girlhood and bees.

and yet, as otherworldly as these pieces seem, we find that we're able to resonate with them the most. tianmei he's "The Calling of Hangzhou" has us trying to find our own mountains throughout histories. sinead price helps us ground ourselves while we're drifting. and through all of these humbling pieces, we found yet another common thread: we are all irrevocably, unequivocally human.
